Norma (Mary)DAVIESDAVIES - NORMA (MARY), (nee WHITFIELD), July 7th, 2014. Norma, who was a tireless fund raiser and organiser for charities and her family alike, died at Southport General Hospital, aged ninety four and a half years. After being schooled at Broughton Hall in West Derby, she was a Liverpool City Council employee before and after a war with the WAAF'S in the Lake District. She spent over thirty years with the Council, a large part of her time at the Liverpool School of Pharmacy. She then cared for her husband Charles, who died in 1975. She became a very active volunteer for over 30 years with Ellerslie Court and the Widows Club in Southport, and was a devoted Catholic and worshipped at St. John Stones in Ainsdale, where she has lived since the 1950's. She was a mother to her four nieces Gail, Clare, Dianne and Lisa and the matriarch of a large extended family, including four nieces, five great-nieces, five great-nephews and one great-great-nephew, who will all miss her terribly.
